JOB PURPOSE

Provide the VP-Controller and CFO with assistance in all financial- related tasks; including analysis, preparation, and reporting of accurate financial data according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

ESSENTIAL RESULTS

Keep company(s) in "good standing status" with various state and federal agencies by:

  • Assisting Controller in the preparation and timely filing of tax returns to avoid penalties and interest
  • Ensuring financial records, interdivisional accounting, and record keeping are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Ensuring license/permit compliance of company(s) as well as customers

Assist in the financial planning and reporting for the successful management of the entities by:

  • Perform daily accounting processes including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions
  • Reconcile various accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness including sub-ledgers, work orders, and payroll data
  • Assist in preparation of analysis of financial information in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare routine financial reports and ad-hoc reports for operational review and decision making
  • Provide analysis of financial and operational metrics
  • Support and maintain weekly WIP (work-in-progress) reporting updates
  • Contribute to annual budgeting process
  • Assist with the completion and preparation of monthly financial reports and annual audit

Minimize risks that can negatively affect the organization by:

  • Notifying Controller or CFO immediately with any concerns regarding actions of managers, employees, or others that could affect the company's well being
  • Working closely with Controller/CFO to establish, monitor, and enforce procedures, controls, and reporting systems
  • Keeping payroll records confidential

Display leadership and direction to subordinates while ensuring quality standards by:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting and Accounting Management
  • Experience working with General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (or similar field of study) preferred
  • Must be proficient on Windows PC & Microsoft Office suite
  • Must have advance skills in Microsoft Excel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Frequent and/or constant sitting with occasional standing and walking
  • Other physical requirements include but are not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, finger repetition and dexterity.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, reading and visual inspection.

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
